Positive Mitzvah 147: Covering the Blood of a Slaughtered Wild Animal or Bird
Leviticus 17:13 "And he shall pour out its blood, and cover it with earth"The Torah permits us to slaughter a kosher animal in order to derive nourishment from the animal.
Nevertheless, its life force, its blood, must be respected and treated with dignity.
Thus, the Torah commands us to cover up the blood which is spilled when we slaughter fowl or kosher animals from the wild.
Every moment, every human activity is an opportunity to connect with the Infinite. Every act can be an uplifting of the soul. It is only your will that may stand in the way. But as soon as you wish, you are connected.
