Rambam for Friday, 9 Shevat, 5784 - January 19, 2024

Rambam - Sefer HaMitzvos
As Divided for The Daily Learning Schedule

Negative Mitzvah 252

8 Shevat, 5784 - January 18, 202410 Shevat, 5784 - January 20, 2024

This is not an error of duplication. The full-fledged version of this Mitzvah are many and change for those who are learning the one/three chapter a day. The Message for the day from "Bringing Heaven Down to Earth" at the end of this Mitzvah is different than that of yesterday.
Negative Mitzvah 252: It is forbidden to hurt a convert's feelings
Exodus 22:20 "You shall not wrong a stranger"

A "Ger" is a person who converted to Judaism and took upon him-or herself to keep the Torah and Mitzvot.

We are commanded not to hurt his feelings or say anything that may cause the Ger to be embarrassed or feel uneasy.

Give a child kind, non-predatory stuffed animals to play with, like sheep, deer, giraffe and such. What the child looks at in those delicate years has a permanent effect.

And earlier still: Life starts in the womb. Sing to the fetus good things and let it hear words of Torah.
